In the winter months, I like to add castor oil to my hair due to the weight of the oil. I am not fond of the word proactive styles, because I do not believe in them. When my hair was relaxed and long, I wore it in buns and ponytails because, it was easy and suited my life style. In the winter months,I would wear a wig simply because, I do not like my hair blowing in my face. And, having to deal with a hat, scarf, and coat is just too much especially, when I am on the go and live in Brooklyn, NY.

Mango Butter Organic 100%

I usually wear my hair in braids, seven at most and by the fourth day of the week, I wet it completely with the braids intact while showering. I do a modified water only hair routine because I do not want my braids becoming loose. Finally, I close the cuticle of my hair by putting cold water on my hair after washing then, I put on a little bit of naptural85 hair and body oil mixture and some of her Shea butter mixture that I modified by adding mango, avocado butter, and oil.

Deep conditioning is a must for me. I make my own deep conditioning mixture using ideas from 22nd century natural women. I also modify the mixture by adding mango, Shea butter, and avocado butter to her original recipe. My natural black hair care routine is a year round routine. I perform a deep conditioning on a weekly basis during the winter months and plan on deep conditioning once a month during those hot summer months while, using the recipes from naptural85 hot oil treatment as well as the Carmel treatment from grow black hair.

Refined Shea Butter Pure Raw

During Spring and Summer, I use a lighter oil mixture which contains castor oil in . I wear my hair out all the time when it is warm and wash it daily with or with out conditioner; then, I simply apply a small amount of oil and my Shea butter mixture onto my hair. I also use curl-formers (the original as well as the dupe version) during the warm seasons and I love them . I only put curl formers on when my hair is wet directly out the shower. I do not use a tee shirt or towel on my hair I just squeeze out the excess water and style. I will be also using the CWK straighten plates and the Conair wave clips. These tools as well as a simple braid out is all I need to keep up with my natural black hair care routine.

Natural black hair care products like Shea butter, raw organic mango, and avocado butter which I purchased from Dr Adorable on Amazon. The Organic Jojoba oil is purchased from the jojoba company. All other items that I use to accomplish my hair care regimen are purchased from mountain rose herb online website. I also love the deep conditioning cap which, I purchased on Etsy. Purchasing all these items for natural black hair care is an investment in yourself. When I started my natural black hair care journey, I purchased items over the counter and discovered that the products did not work. They were just a waste of my precious time and hard earned money.
